Sustainable Studio Practices

Every wood workshop has one thing common: sawdust. What can we do with it?
We can start by converting it into a usable form. The easiest thing to make from
sawdust is a board.
Regardless of its thickness, it can be used for various things. For example, making a
fun game and a desk lamp.

Arrange and rearrange the Tetris-like pieces any way

you want. Each piece is modular and can be arranged

on the grid as shown above.

Have a plain grid as your desk lamp. Have a tiny

square to emit the light. Make it a game. Make it a

message.

But mostly, make sure to have fun!

Sawdust Board Making Process

Sawdust Board Making Process

Using 6mm acrylic to make the mold.
This mold is used to make compressed sawdust sheets.

Make a mold of a random size from acrylic or any non-stick material. Mix sawdust, glue, and water to make a semi-solid dough. Fill up the mold as much as you can. Make sure the dough is overflowing from the mold. Compress the dough with clamps as much as possible. Let it stay overnight.

Once it's slightly dry, start removing the mold.
